We Fight Against
Health Disparities

in the Lansing Latino Communities.

Bridging the healthcare divide in the greater Lansing area!

LLHA foresees the day
when Latinos:

  • have a voice on health issues and policies affecting them
  • have access to quality, culturally relevant healthcare without disparities and/or inequities
  • are empowered and knowledgeable healthcare consumers
  • enter healthcare fields in increased numbers and skill levels
  • LLHA testified before legislative panels about the need to review and emend policies that contributed to denying access to minority communities and in part lead to resulting health disparities.

  • LLHA provided in-service training to hospital caregivers on such issues as cultural understanding and relevance in attending to the Hispanic / Latino patient.

  • LLHA makes available current information about maintaining good health through presentations, materials, annual health fair

  •  LLHA has begun to collaborate with local school districts and hospitals to make Latino students and parents aware about various paths that lead to multiple positions in the health care fields.
